遠山の金さん Tōyama no Kin-san (2018,TBS)
2018, I had a previous opportunities to make a several birds eyes shot of VFX for Tōyama no Kin-san (TBS) using matte art from Dir.TEN SHIMOYAMA . We had visited and gotten refarences for shoot on KYOTO village(SHOOTING STUDIO) . but These were only midle angle , Therefore I had to make a period of Edo's city.as matte painting. At first , Dir Shimoyama and I looked for the map about these historical city that represented for JAPAN's popular period. And then, I found out that I need to know how angle (camera lenz) will be good for it's shot, It's dorama was known for a bit of seriously ,but almost sories depended on kindness,meek people and full of sensibility of JAPAN comfortable, and fine . Dir, shimoyama already realized it's sensibility, and He tried to express ,and buid up these sensibility through matteart.

If I fall down definitely I would have be able to be a dead man.
Concept design for Edo . At first I made this angle using wide lends, but Dir didn't like this wide lenz much expression.
He always hoped that ''It's Edo images using matte art will give to the people the sensibility of '' JAPAN ''like a fusuma
Anyway, This first steps was important for it's matte paint shot.
And I already had changed my methods for building up it's images.
because of the images , perspective , way of roof ,will be depend on the camera lens .
If Dir. 's direction change suddenly. I would have be change the angle, perspective, and all details.
There was a just perspective that Dir. wanted for Image of castle town.

Of course, this angle is necessary for long shots.
Dir. Shimoyama already had thought about the river where it should be set up on. It's so incredible idea !!
I was willing to receive it idea and painted it
but.. I found it out ... I had to add on something ....
